The school merger puts Grange Hill in a state of confusion on the first day of term. Just what sort of pet has Calley brought to school in a cardboard box?

Who is the mysterious "Mr. S" that Annette has been seeing? Fay, Julie and Diane are determined to find out.

Gonch has found a new source of revenue in a local skip, and Calley tries her hand at palm reading.

Ronnie's Walkman is stolen. When it comes to helping old people, Gonch has better things to do, but Hollo's patience is rewarded.

Stewpot is two-timing Claire, a production of West Side Story is planned, and Zammo starts a part-time job at a chippy.

Stewpot's excuses are becoming increasingly hard for Claire to believe, and Banksie persuades Jackie to go on a date.

Calley finds out she is adopted, and French students arrive at Grange Hill.

There are more thefts occurring and Gonch concocts a new venture that brings together fake dentist appointments and rented videos.

Gonch's video scheme hits new snags and Mr. Bronson is convinced Zammo, Mandy and Sarah are the thieves when he finds them near the staff room.

Gonch brings Henry (a plastic dummy) to school. When Henry is accidentally thrown in front of a passing car, Gonch gets into more and more trouble as the day proceeds.

Gonch bugs the staff room, and the school musical starts to take shape.

Banskie launches a mission to go back to the derelict Brookdale School building

There's an accident on the road outside school injuring Eric. Fay and Jean Paul baby-sit for Mr. McCartney.

Banksie, Jean-Paul, Jackie and Sarah take Banksie's brother's stock car for a spin. Will Sarah get the thrilling ride she was hoping for?

When Mr. Bronson goes for a swim, Gonch uses the opportunity to steal his toupee.

The French kids go home, Mr. Bronson's got a new wig, and the thieves are finally found.

A suggestion by Hollo saves the musical after the destruction of the sets and Mr. Bronson is determined to get to the bottom of the business of his lost toupee.

At the end of term Mods and Rockers musical Banksie makes the show a roaring success and there finally seems to be true unification between the merged schools.

At the Christmas Fair, a surprise awaits Gonch and Hollo in the furniture store, Calley is torn between her foster mother and real mother, and Roland dreams of spending Christmas in Paris.
