In what would be the final series of Tonight, Jennifer Lopez tells Des that her boxing training means she could beat him up, but she likes him too much to do so. Among the other guests are Peter O'Toole, Johnnie Casson and Bernie Clifton.

There's rare blushes on Des's sofa as he reminds the audience that guest Ronan Keating was a virgin until he got married. Ronan also performs a song and talks about fatherhood, while among the other guests is Patsy Palmer.

Crissy Rock joins Des to talk about her serious acting projects, but can't help letting the stand-up inside her come out. Also appearing are Cliff Richard, Bradley Walsh, Ainsley Harriott and the Pet Shop Boys.

Enrique Iglesias performs his new track "Bailamos", while also appearing are Martine McCutcheon, Joe Longthorne, Max Alexander and comedian Andy Ford.

Des welcomes Will Smith onto the show - but will they come to blows? Also on the show is Geri Halliwell, deciding that she was a "brave fool" for taking part in a very candid documentary. Other guests include Texas and Sean Meo.

Lulu tells Des about the thrill of being a songwriter, and her practise of meditation. Also on the show are Hugh Grant, Stan Boardman, Tommy Tiernan, Andrea Bocelli and Shania Twain.

Des welcomes Shirley Bassey back to the show, which gives him another excuse to talk about their non-romance from years earlier. Shirley sings with opera star Bryn Terfel, while among the other guests are B*Witched and comedian Jethro.

The last episode of Des O'Connor Tonight as a weekly series, from this point on it would return to TV only as specials. Helping to see out Des's last regular edition are guests including Joanna Lumley, Kelle Bryan and Sting.

Des's regular show may have come to an end, but he still gets to host a Christmas special, with guests including Pierce Brosnan, Charlotte Church, Céline Dion, Robson Green and Joe Pasquale.
