Baylor no longer has enough animals to get across the Kansas prairie. He devises a unique way to propel his wagon but it invites ridicule. With only Lou believing in him, Baylor proposes a race to prove he is right.

A retiring Arizona ranger chases one last crook.

The Emperor of Brazil rides a train to San Francisco. At a stop, he gets off for a stroll. The train leaves without him. He comes upon a farm run by a widow and kids. Mom doesn't believe he's an emperor and forces him to await the sheriff.

An attorney takes the case of a famed gunman who is charged with murder. The attorney begins to question whether his reputation was deserved or whether it was hyped.

They get their chance as a Union Army Major (Lyle Bettger) tells them about a renegade Confederate camp in New Mexico which he intends to attack. Skinner and Ortho offer their services to Major Roberts in an unorthodox manner.

In 1862 Utah the employees of a stagecoach depot encounter an orphaned Indian boy. Whipsaw and Gillis differ in their approach to Little Cayuse but he demonstrates his loyalty in a life or death situation.
