When a series of bushfires begin to break out around Mt Thomas, investigators intensify their search for the arsonist. Tempers soon flare as suspicions fall upon one of the men charged with protecting those in the fire's path.

The visiting investigator gets increasingly aggressive in his methods and P.J. is still angry at Ben, as who started the fires is still be looked into. Jonesy gets lost in the middle of another fire and is not heard from.

When a dog starts killing Charlie McKinley's sheep, all fingers point to Tom and Grace's family dog, Sabu. But Grace's son, Nelson, insists his best friend is innocent.

A series of routine traffic stops lead to a puzzling discovery and a frustrating effort to gather evidence in what Ben is convinced is a homicide, but with no body and no clear evidence, proving foul play becomes difficult.

When Jo apprehends the driver of a getaway car, she instantly recognises her as Sam Baxter, a wayward local girl. Despite her history of getting into trouble, Jo believes Sam is basically a good kid - and goes out of her way to prove it.

Jo and Ben are called to a fight at the high school and are surprised to find a father of one of the girls has been brawling with the netball coach

Surveyors working on a vacant lot come across human remains in a shallow grave. When Jo discovers the body of an elderly woman in a nearby house, she believes the two deaths are related.

With Tess' husband now working at a Melbourne hospital, Jonesy decides it's his job to keep her, and her puppy (Puddles), company at night and turns up on her doorstep with a freshly caught fish dinner.

Private Investigator Archie Garrett returns to Mt Thomas to find a petty thief stealing personal items from the patients at a new detox centre.

Tess' colleagues are keeping busy gossiping about her failed marriage to Josh, but while out on patrol, Evan is quick to defend her when Ben criticises her for making bad decisions in her life.

Divisional Inspector Russell Falcon-Price is adamant someone made a deliberate attempt on his life and he points the finger squarely at Constable Jo Parrish.

Some old faces turn up and then there is a blackout in the whole town. As people scramble around in the dark, the truth emerges about the blackout, so will the truth about Ben and his secret affair.

Jonesy and Tess become involved in a suicide investigation of an elderly father with suspected brain cancer. It soon becomes a murder enquiry when PJ discovers bruises on the victim's face and an unregistered rifle.

Tess and Ben encounter a family custody dispute with a difference when they meet a lesbian couple, Andrea and Natalie, their son Kai, and his father, Gethin, the sperm donor.

Following the Inspector's discovery, the Heelers try to put out the fire. Ben is determined to move to Melbourne with Felicity and her two children, but PJ tries to talk some sense into him.

Tess is having dreams about Jonesy. She can't tell when it's a dream and when its real. When Jonesy calls her out to a night time burglary, this will lead to some shady goings on, a father and drugged up son to deal with.

Young Sam Baxter is implicated when there is a burglary - at the telephone shop run by Sam's estranged mother Adele. After being open just one month the burglary will set Adele and her partner, Lachlan, back severely.

When a body is found by the railway line the investigation leads the Heelers to a local internet café, run by a warring husband and wife.

Jo finds out her dad Jeff has a new girlfriend, Shaylee, and she is very very young. She is instantly mortified that her father is carrying on with another woman, especially one her own age.

It's a case of who's telling the truth when a suspicious fire starts in a teenager's bedroom, with the father and son blaming each other for the blaze.

Pam, a new female plumber in town, stirs up trouble with Mt Thomas' resident plumber Charlie Clarke. Charlie mysteriously turns up at every job Pam is called to and tries to undercut her price.

Tom's teenage stepson, Daniel, finds a classmate stabbed in an alley, Jonesy and Tess are shocked to find the young victim had a knife. Daniel denies any knowledge of armed gangs, but his younger brother says otherwise.

Ben investigates the health of a baby boy reared by his widowed dad. The man is trying to treat the boy's fever with natural remedies, to the exclusion of conventional medicine.

Jo and PJ discover the body of a young woman at the bottom of a cliff in a suspected suicide. PJ is surprised to find out that Marco Fiorelli, his new flatmate, not only knew the woman, but she worked for his father.

Tess struggles to keep her emotions under control as her hormones give her a "pregnancy brain". When a pedantic husband tries to stop his pregnant wife playing squash, a scuffle breaks out between them and Tess arrests him for assault

A French cameraman arrives at the station to film a documentary. There is a report of a riot in Widgeree, where Gossey may or may not have a situation under control. There is a death. Monica Draper makes enquiries.

When hard up families and thefts come to the attention of the police, they have to investigate. One family is targeted and Ben gets more involved and tested with them and Captain Marissa.

The Heelers are baffled when a man confesses to murdering a young woman, but they can't find her body.

Bridie accuses Jonesy of Calvin's murder, but makes the mistake of manufacturing evidence against him. When she is found out, suspicion naturally falls on her, and she is arrested

Jo's life is saved by a mysterious stranger after she is left choking on her seat belt after she is run off the road. When she learns her benefactor may have committed a drive-by shooting moments earlier, she refuses to accept it.

Tess is surprised to discover that her in-laws are the couple who stopped to help a hit-and-run victim; they are equally surprised to discover she is pregnant.

Jo takes a single mother, Cherry, under her wing when the woman arrives in Mt Thomas searching for Tim Lewis, the father of her baby who disappeared shortly after she told him she was pregnant.

A convicted pedophile released from prison has moved into a house across the road from the local primary school. A young girl goes missing, and the suspect is accused of her abduction. Is he really the monster that so many believe he is?

Jonesy wonders if Susie's caution on the job is cowardice, but when he chases an armed escapee into the National Park and comes across a dead body, it's Susie who takes his call for assistance.

Ben finds his tolerance tested when his 17-year-old daughter, Maddy, turns up at a seedy Mt Thomas nightclub with her "muso" boyfriend, Kyle, having run away from her mother and siblings in Perth.

Ben is concerned Maddy is dating a 'weirdo' just to spite him for breaking up her relationship with Kyle, and tries to persuade her to go out with a more suitable boy. His judgment is tested when both boys are suspected of theft and fraud.

Susie is deeply concerned when she learns that the grieving father and brother of the boy who was killed in the same road accident that left her husband Brad a paraplegic have moved to Mt Thomas.

Susie's husband gets a new job and there is trouble with the staff. When it seems like there has been a murder, Susie husband's is employed by P.J., but it does not go quite to plan.

Ben buys his basketball team pork rolls from a local takeaway shop and is devastated when they all come down with food poisoning.

Tom discovers the Mt. Thomas High School principal has been viciously assaulted and when his stepson says he was offered a black market VCE exam paper, the Heelers suspect exam theft may have been a motive for the attack.

Susie and Brad visit a psychologist to help with their issues of intimacy, however suspicious practices eventually lead to a domestic argument and Brad moving out of the flat.

While making a 'detour' while on patrol to check on her husband who is staying at a motel, Evan and Suzy break up a domestic disturbance involving a husband and wife and the man he believes she is having an affair with.
