First to be welcomed into the barn is Sandie Ennis, with a handbag that belonged to her late mother. The perfect project for leather expert Suzie, this bag was the first thing Sandie's mother, Carmen, bought when she emigrated from the West Indies to the UK in the 1960s. Sandie is guilty of some of the damage. Suzie must completely dismantle the various sections before reinforcing, restitching and nourishing this item if Sandie's dreams of using it herself ...

First to arrive at the barn is Becky Farr, with a sorry-looking grandfather clock for the attention of horologist Steve Fletcher. Her clock-maker great-grandfather built this impressive piece, and it has been in residence in the hallway of her family's home for as long as she can remember, making appearances in photographs documenting key events in her life.
