The Paul Daniels Magic Show

Paul returns with a show that tops the BBC chart, mixing comedy, magic and some special guests. The guests include the whip-cracking Bob Rosetti, and Norman Barrett with his performing budgerigars.

Paul welcomes a wide variety of guests, ranging from the juggling of Rob Murray, the contortionism of Miss Maty, and, most dangerous of all, the crocodile taming antics of Karah Khavak and company.

Paul risks being upstaged when he brings on Goldy the counting horse to help him out with one of his tricks. Among the other items featured is another chance to see Hans Moretti's game of Russian Roulette, and the barrel jumping of Matla.

Paul tries some futuristic magic by attending the Oxford-Cambridge boat race on the 4th April 1981, and predicting a word that would be chosen by members of the studio audience weeks later.

Paul joins the Rubik's Cube craze with Cube expert Nicolas Hammond, while Jeffery Atkins demonstrates the Victorian trick of "Spirit Painting". Also on the show are the percussion skills of Los Matacos.

The third series closes with guests including the memory feats of Reveen the Impossiblist, and the physical feats of Mr. Electric. There's also Ray Dondy, a man who uses a trampoline and diving board while apparently under the influence.

A Christmas Special which sees the first appearance of Paul's son, Martin, in the series. Martin Daniels takes part in a Houdini trick, while the other guests are Pierre Brahma and Les Samurai.
