Trainee Captain Cunningham proves himself inept when his mistake strands Merrill's tour group in a hurricane. Jean Carter has mixed feelings about meeting her birth mother. Isaac takes a cruise as a passenger and meets passenger Mara.

Merrill's marooned group faces the hurricane while Isaac tries to help the passengers and regain Mara's trust. Jean gets a surprise while prepping to meet her birth mother.

Tomboy Rosemary "Rocky" Simpson (Melissa Gilbert) has a shipboard romance with teenager Norman (Jimmy Baio); Julie's (Lauren Tewes) parents (Betty Garrett and Norman Fell) break the news that they are getting a divorce; two prudes, Marion (James Coco) and Patricia (Dody Goodman), are booked into the same cabin, because Marion is a man who has a female name.

Womanizing Alvin McNair hits on three women but doesn't know they're together. Merrill's godson Dave Stanton brings his wife Laura on a belated honeymoon. Brothers Harold and Joe Nash plot to fake a back injury and sue the cruise line.

Publisher Alfred Newberry's wife Sandra falls for author Mark Littlejohn of a long-awaited book. Merrill's lecherous uncle Cy Foster chases Julie. Businessman Martin Scott's daughter Allison uses female charm to close a merger for him.

Isaac's friends Mike and Lenore are successful and rich, but workaholic Mike neglects his son. Suzanne follows Frank, who witnessed what happened to someone she cares about. Shy Newton Weems dons a costume and kisses girls on board.

The Amazing Alonzo performs illusions for his fans while neglecting gal pal Ramona. Dr. Diller and his wife don't know that their son Bobby lies to get attention. Julie's friend Karen has facial scars after an accident and is insecure.

Capt. Stubing (Gavin MacLeod) is reunited with his daughter (Jill Whelan); former songwriter Charlie (Robert Goulet) encounters his ex-partner Burt (Richard Dawson) on board; secretary Sandy (Jo Anne Worley) takes a cruise with her boss Victor (Soupy Sales), after they get drunk at a party; a Soviet cruise line Commissar (Loretta Swit) falls for Doc (Bernie Kopell).

Widow Ellen Garner is followed by her husband Mickey's ghost who tries to fix her up. Divorced Les and Gail see their daughter and her husband off but get locked in an unused cabin. Gopher's sister Jennifer makes a beeline for Doc.

Reverend Whitney's blind date faces scorn from parishioner Barbara Sharp. Bert Wilder helps his wife Audrey deal with being blind. Princess engineer Tony's vacation plans change, so Julie and Gopher invite his family on a free cruise.

Alex and Wally bet to see who can date Julie. Artie hopes to date starlet Mona. Doug and his parents (little people) sail together and he runs into Beth from home. He's attracted to her but little people make her uncomfortable.

Merrill expects a prestigious award but the presenter is not whom he expects. Adam is attached to elderly George and Gloria Hancock from his hometown. Recently divorced Dan Holt runs into his ex-wife's lawyer Ann Sterling.

Larry and Cybil Hartman plan to adopt an orphan in a port of call. Adam and Merrill fall for Julie's friend Karen Maynard. Wes and Renee Larson and their friend April Dunleavy plan a business deal with fraudulent executive Van Milner.

Julie falls for Jack Chenault, but will she move to Alaska with him? Twins Judy and Joanie, unhappy with marriage, consider switching husbands. Separated ventriloquists Mike and Pat Harmon are in the same cabin and entertain in the lounge.

Irene agrees to meet college classmate Andy after years apart, and then panics. Dr. Todd wrote a book about open marriage but finds his own marriage in jeopardy as he meets admirer Nan. Adam's ex-wife Betty boards with new fiance Lance.

Gopher's friend Phil offers him a job managing his hotel. Magician Ken's assistant Maggie is upset when he sends his brother Al to replace him in the act. Hetty moves into a ship's cabin, to get closer to porter Charlie.

Isaac worries that young Stephanie on probation working in the gift shop is stealing jewelry. Henpecked Fred feels his girlfriend Christine is pressuring him into marriage before he's ready. Widower Woody and son Alan both fall for Libby.

Julie's English teacher (Raymond Burr), a lonely alcoholic, is aboard ship for Julie's high school class reunion.

Conclusion. At their high-school reunion, Julie and her former boyfriend find they'll still attracted to each other.

Merrill gets a lucrative job offer on a super liner. Doc's former mentor Art is now a bitter amputee traveling with his guilt-ridden wife Laura. College friends Carol and Gwen both fall for passenger Paul Dunbar.

A chauffeur (John Mills) takes up with his employer (Celeste Holm); an 8-year-old (Keith Coogan) blames himself when his parents (Juliet Mills and David Hedison) separate; Gopher (Fred Grandy) has a crush on a cover model (Hayley Mills).

Suzanne doesn't know if boyfriend Alan loves her for her self or her money. Mason falls for Alicia but her terrier doesn't like him. Isaac falls for Selena, who is engaged to someone else.

Shy singles Sylvia and Monroe keep missing each other. Retirees Ned and Molly are followed by their meddling offspring Rowena and Francis. Fortune teller Mary Louise may be a fraud, but Merrill finds her charming.

Julie is attracted to an older man and pursued by a teen with a crush; Bo and Sam break a ship's model, meant for Merrill's anniversary gift, and work to fix it in time; Diana and Jeff try to find common ground between their parents.

Isaac overhears mystery writers researching a book and thinks they're plotting to kill Merrill. A rock star falls for a deaf woman. Doc's honeymooning friend Mitzi thinks her new husband Vinnie doesn't really love her.

April Lopez returns as a lounge singer. Bud and Margaret's kids disrupt their parents' second honeymoon with constant needs. World War 2 veteran Frank and USO entertainer Eve reunite after thirty-five years.

Bob's second wife Lee tries to win his daughters' acceptance; Gopher's dad feels left out when he and mother Ros board for a Mother's Day cruise. Older woman Maggie, with grown kids, worries what husband Mac will say about her pregnancy.
