A couple kissing passionately in a building on Place des Quinconces find the door of the apartment unlocked, but in the urge for sex they ignore it. In the morning, a man is found shot dead in their living room: Francis Larère, court clerk, had bribed the concierge to rent the six floor apartment to him while the tenants, the Carrez, were on holidays. Although a murder committed in town, Procureur Berger ask the Gendarmerie to solve it, for it could collide with other investigations of the Police National.

Mathilde attends a wedding in a castle with her cousin Yves, the groom's, Cédric Perrin, best man. After the ceremony, the guests are invited to fly in a balloon; from above, some of them see the bride, Mélanie Verneil, and groom having an argument at the edge of the pool. Suddenly, she grabs a bottle of champagne and inflicts a blow to his head. He sinks into the water but Mélanie does not try to save him and flees. Lieutenant Lafarce informs the SR that Mélanie was a widow; her first husband, Alex, died in a fire.

Geneviève Faure, 64, a peaceful retired woman who is much loved and very generous with her neighbours, was fatally assaulted during a car trip. Before dying, she voluntarily swallowed a mini-camera. She had received an inheritance from a terminally ill woman at the hospital where she worked as a volunteer hairdresser, which helped her to live her generous life. The Research Section start digging in her past life trying to figure out what really happened to her.

Henri Forest is on trial for the murder of his partner, Lydia Perac. One of the jurors, Frédéric Reynal, 33, married, jeweller, tries to warn the President that the investigation neglected an important element. But a fire breaks out when Perac's sister testifies and Reynal is stabbed during the evacuation of the building. The SR takes the case, but Commandant Ghemara fears that they might have made a mistake two years ago when Perac was murdered. Capitaine Angeli takes it personally because Forest was found guilty thanks to the evidences she processed.

A woman notices a car approaching her house erratically, which crashes into a garbage can. François Vignac, one of her neighbours, gets off the vehicle, bleeding from his right side. Refusing her help, he locks himself in his home. When the Emergencies arrive, they discover Vignac's lifeless body on his computer. Bernier's team finds out that he was 60, married with two children, worked as a chemist and had recently retired. When the body is moved, the computer shows a message on the screen: "Pardon". The investigation reveals that he had been violently assaulted, but...

Max Verneuil, a violent teenager, plays video games in his room when his mother gets in to remind him of the appointment with his psychiatrist, Dr. Laurence Duriez. When Mrs. Verneuil drives back to the doctor's office to pick up her son, she finds the waiting room empty, the corpse of the doctor stabbed on the floor and her boy disappeared from the crime scene. The research section investigate the crime to understand what happened and find the young boy. Bernier informs the team about Enzo's funeral.

Adjudant Casanova arrives to the farm of Augustin and Jacqueline Manesco, 48 and 42, and finds the front door open and the ducks they raised invading the corridor and the kitchen, where the couple are found shot dead. Two days before they had come to the Gendarmerie to report the disappearance of their daughter Caroline, who has been living in England for seven months. The first investigations reveal that Caroline, still missing, never went to live in England. The case is complicated for the RS, and Casanova, familiar with the zone, lends a hand.

A woman walks down an empty street at night and she notices that she is being followed by a taxicab. The driver convinces her to get in the car alleging that it is dangerous for a woman to be alone in the area. At dawn the taxi is hit by a train, on a level crossing in the countryside. The driver is found dead in the morning; his name was Jean-Paul Louvain, 47, and he was married. Commandant Angeli discovers that Louvain was killed before the impact.

During a miss contest that takes place in the municipal hall of a village, one of the competitors, Louise Mariani, disappointed with the results, leaves the stage furious at the end of the awards ceremony. Later on, her dress is planted on a stake stained with red paint in front of the house of Vanessa Lambert, the organiser of the competition, which dead body is found in a hangar in a satanic staging. Louise is missing and becomes the main suspect.

Alain Belmont breeds buffaloes in Aquitaine Far West, an amusement park that recreates Western towns. His wife Pauline is a singer in the saloon, where country music plays while she fools around the cowboys. At night, when Alain is watching a movie in the attic of his ranch with headphones on at top volume, a stranger breaks in awakening Pauline from her sleep. In order to silence her, he or she suffocates her to death with her pillow. Evidences suggest that it was an attempted burglary that would have gone wrong, but the SR is surprised when they find out that ...

One of Yann Da Silva's hands is found in a pigsty, but no other remains can be found because he was devoured by the pigs. Yann was a wealthy thirty-something who was due to fly to Canada for professional reasons the day after his death. The night before he was attending a birthday party with his old friends from high school. The absence of the body makes the investigation extremely difficult for the SR, for they lack any clue.

The corpse of Serge Fauvel, a lawyer who specialises in traffic offences and well known in the media, is found by a woman in the forest during a role play in the forest. Later on, his vehicle is also found near the crime scene, with the inscription "Die, bastard". While the SR is investigating the crime, Capitaine Martin Bernier receives a phone call to attend to another crime scene: a car at the bottom of a lake with the body of a young woman, missing for 8 years. The SR will also take this case.

Sandra Lelandais, 32, gets in her car after having a drink and phones her friend Myriam Bartoli, for she has some good news to tell her as soon as she arrives, but is attacked by stranger in the parking lot. Not seeing Sandra come back, Myriam, who is also her neighbour, goes down to the parking lot and finds her dead body. The SR arrives at the crime scene and interrogates Myriam: she is certain that she has crossed paths with the murderer, but unfortunately she is blind. Sandra and Myriam worked together as telephone clairvoyants in an Internet agency. At the same ...
