Time has stopped except Yorozuya. It seems to be related that Gintoki damaged "the universe clock" what he found at the sight of the UFO clashing last night.

Yorozuya comes to realize that the universe clock ran out of battery. They head to crash site to search a spare battery.

Gintama is being spied upon by a inspector who falls in love with Gintama's maid Tama San and drama ensues.

Seita learns history from Tsukuyo. He wants Gintoki to be his tutor because her way of teaching is too strict. / Due to his strict parents, Takachin asked Shinpachi to hold on his manga. Shinpachi is worried about if he can hide them from his sister Tae.

One day, a new large mirror places in the washroom in Yorozuya office without notice. / Yamazaki thinks to try something to step up in his career. Then, he sees a Ninja license that Zenzou has, he wants to get it.

Gintoki is invited a reunion for big-four of Joi samurais. The organizer is Tasuke Kurokono, not Katsura or Sakamoto. But, somehow nobody remembers him.

Gintoki, Katsura and Sakamoto begin to remember Kurokono after reading a letter from Takasugi.

Hijikata got a lottery ticket from a female shopkeeper of his favorite tobacco shop. And then, he feels that everyone is aiming at his money since he won the lottery.

Gintoki realizes that Yorozuya has a little request for work recently because there is a lack of advertisements. He, Shinpachi and Kagura bounce ideas off each other to create publicity posters.

Kyubei sets off a chain of events where everyone swaps genders.

The gang deals with their new issues as man and woman while trying to fix things.

Everyone has to adjust to living with their genders swapped. Jyubei feels guilty over what happened, but he gets a chance at redemption.

Seita doesn't eat lunch with classmates because he is embarrass by a feast in lunch box that Hinowa made every day. Tsukuyo notices it, and tries to break this situation.

A serial killer called the Reaper has been targeting drunkards on the streets in Kabuki-Cho. One night, a drunk Gintoki encounters a girl who calls herself the Reaper. She asks him to help her to commit hara-kiri.

The present head of a family of the executioner, Yaemon Ikeda reveals Gintoki's past just after Joi war.

Asaemon points her sword at Yaemon with a will of her own, and she has a hard fight by overwhelming his force. Gintoki takes sides with Asaemon who fights back.

Hasegawa is making a living telling scary stories, and he comes to the Yorozuya for advice on how to make scary stories.

Tama has become a confessional for people to relieve themselves of sin through confessing to her. Gintoki tries to make money by hiring Tama for his services, but hears too many dark secrets to his comfort.

The Shogun has lost his memory and befriends Katsura and his rebels, but he's so reliable and noble that all the rebels switch to him as leader.

There is a summer night festival in Kabuki-Chou. By way of getting back at Tae for rejecting him, Kondou strictly controls some dating couples to find faults with their behavior as he works. When he begins to feel the futility, she appears at the festival.

Yorozuya enjoys Suikawari with Soyo. / In the end of the summer vacation, Seita begs Yorozuya to help because he has not started a lot of his homework yet.

An accident causes Gintoki and Hijikata to switch bodies. They end up changing their respective groups for the better, or worse?

A chance to return to normal is derailed when part of Gintoki's soul possesses a dead cat, turning it into a superhuman freak.

Everybody's souls gets scrambled as Gintoki and Hijikata face off with the cat monster to return to normal.

Whn Gintoki's friend Tatsuma Sakamoto is kidnapped, his lieutenant Mutsu enlists Gintoki to save him.

Mutsu and Gintoki go on the offensive to rescue Sakamoto.

The Yorozuya decide to try a change in clothes. / Shinpachi tries to learn the secret technique his father left behind.

Kondo tracks down the Ape Boy, a thief from his past.

Katsura infiltrates the Shinsengumi as a prolific Afro-wearing swordsman. This attracts the attention of another Afro-wearing Shinsengumi officer, the silent warrior Saito Shimaru.

When Katsura causes Saito to be put on trial, it's up to the Yorozuya to save him.

Kagura is in the hospital for a slight cold and tries to milk the situation for sympathy, but everyone thinks she is dying.

A funeral is held for the still-living Kagura. Can she tell people she's alive before they cremate her?

Shachi loves a doctor in the prison's dispensary. He shows her his manga that expressing his love for her. / It was decided that Musai Akurogi will make their professional debut. Gintoki gets some dangerous prisoners as their assistants.

Tetsuko asks Yorozuya to watch her sword-smith shop. / Tama gets to know a rickety vending machine named Tabako.

The shogun's assassination is set in motion.

The Yorozuya discovers the Ninja Village, the Kihetai start their ambush and Okita confronts Kamui in a battle.

Gintoki and his company arrived in a village of Ninja, and they learn Zenzou's secret plan. It's revealed Shigeshige and Zenzou's past.

Only Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi, Kondo, and Hijikata remain to protect the shogun.

Gintoki takes on Takasugi. Meanwhile Kagura takes on Kamui.

Gintoki and Takasugi remember when they were boys with Shoyo while they fight a duel.

Oboro intervenes in the battle between Gintoki and Takasugi. Meanwhile, it's an unexpected person that is waiting for Shinpachi and his company who escaped from the jaws of death.

Shigeshige makes plans for his country's future, and leaves with a promise to see his friends again. A promise he will not survive to keep.

The war is over. Everyone is in the depths of despair. Kondou talks over a cup of sake with Gintoki in Shinsengumi headquarters, and then he appears at Mimawarigumi to be on death penalty.

Hijikata has been feeling very depressed after Shinsengumi was dissolved. Kozenigata takes him and Gintoki to the bar where Tae works. Unfortunately, Nobunobu comes while they are drinking in the bar.

Kondou meets Katsura again in prison. Katsura proposes that Shinsengumi joins hands with his Joi party, and fight together to change this country.

Shinsengumi under Hijikata and Katsura's Joi party head to Kokujo island where Kondou and Katsura have been captured.

Yorozuya with Tae and Shinsengumi and Katsura's Joi party arrived together at Kokujo island. They start Kondou and Katsura rescue operation.

All thoughts are entangled in the fierce battle. The Shinsengumi's and the Mimawarigumi's pasts are revealed while Isaburo lets out his true intentions.

Isaburo continues his plan of rebellion while the alliance retreats from the island. However, things come to a head, as death itself descends upon the battlefield.

While everyone fights to regroup and escape, Isaburo reaches an epiphany.

Now wanted fugitives, the Shinsengumi say their goodbyes to their friends in Edo.
