Food brainiac Alton Brown and Chef Anne Burrell welcome 16 of the worst cooks in America to boot camp. Alton and Anne want to see what they're dealing with, so they ask the recruits to make a baseline dish.

The theme of boot camp is indulgence, and the recruits start off making indulgent salads and fresh mozzarella. Then they have to re-create Alton Brown's and Anne Burrell's craveable dishes to avoid being sent home.

The recruits find boot camp transformed for a Chinese New Year celebration. First, they play a game to gather ingredients for fried rice. Then Alton Brown and Anne Burrell guide the recruits through making dumplings.

The recruits enter the world of culinary sophistication, starting by identifying different crepe fillings and learning how to make their own crepes from Alton Brown and Anne Burrell. Then the recruits create a duck dish.

The teams of recruits face off in a game where they make game day dishes in order to move down the field to the end zone. They re-create burgers made by Alton Brown and Anne Burrell before tackling Southern tailgating staples.

The recruits learn how to combine unlikely ingredients, and Alton Brown and Anne Burrell challenge the recruits to make a flatbread including an unusual pairing. For the main dish challenge, they must pair fruit and meat.

It's a sweet week in boot camp, with the recruits trying to identify sweet treats using all their senses. Then they learn how to make napoleons and have to make a citrus tart with a meringue for the main dish challenge.

In the penultimate skill drill challenge, the recruits play remote-control chef and guide Alton Brown and Anne Burrell to make a dish they cannot see or taste. For the main dish challenge, the recruits make a steak dish.

The final two recruits get private cooking lessons from Alton Brown and Anne Burrell and learn to make a dish of their choosing. Then Alton and Anne teach their recruits how to make a three-course, restaurant-quality meal.
