Fitzpatrick and Lavender bet on whether Fitzpatrick can pull off the ultimate salesman's con of selling new windows to someone he has recently sold the exact same windows to. Vincent tries to recruit a new salesman.

Vincent, Fitzpatrick and Lavender meet a group of men from a publishing company who have expense accounts and company cars, making Vincent wonder if he's in the wrong business. Carol struggles with the new computer.

Vincent receives a visit from the taxman, so he decides it's time to take a family holiday. His side-line business making pirate copies of E.T. continues in his absence. The salesman clash over the ethics of Page 3.

When Lavender and Vincent discover that Fitzpatrick is a CB radio enthusiast they can't resist playing a trick on him. Vincent receives the unexpected but exciting news that he has been nominated for an award.

Vincent is sliding into the abyss. Kicked out of the family home, in debt to the Inland Revenue and having lost his sales mojo. Lavender, having his own career crisis is drawn back into the world of rock 'n' roll.

In order to get back all of the things that he has lost - his marriage, his livelihood, his self-worth - Vincent comes up with a spectacular plan that will return him to his rightful place.
