Unused to running a haulage firm and aware that he has alienated the drivers who worshipped his father, Big Tone, Martin is finding life difficult, especially as he is supporting Roz, his mother. Wendy accompanies Judy, her demanding hypochondriac mother, to another doctor's appointment where, as usual, there is nothing wrong with her After Judy has criticized her daughter's heavy drinking Wendy heads for the pub quiz and ends up having a one night stand with Steven, after which she quickly leaves. Glen is having nightmares, which Malachi attributes to guilt for cheating on long-term girlfriend Caroline with Wendy, so, in a rash attempt to assuage matters, Glen proposes but starts to regret it.
