The Emperor dispatches his favourite, wicked Kao Chiu, to the sacred mountain to exorcise the evil behind the terrible plague that grips China. Kao Chiu discovers an ancient temple, its doors sealed shut on the orders of a previous emperor. Within is a pit believed to contain the souls of nine dozen rebellious knights. The souls are scattered over China, now reborn as heroes who will take a stand against the corruption that has gripped the empire. One such hero might be Lin Chung, an honourable officer in the imperial army. However, Kao Chiu hatches a plot to have Lin...

Lin Chung continues his journey to the prison; along the way he makes friends with group of mountain bandits and the tattooed dragon, a noble man living in the village, in the prison, Lin Chung becomes friend with Lu Ta, a strong prison guard, while Lu Tu is trying to help a girl he ends up killing someone and flees; while that evil Kao Chiu rapes Lin Chung's wife and sends his men to kill Lin Chung.

After fleeing prison; Lin Chung tries to go back to find his wife whom is in a journey too to find her husband; the soldiers set an ambush for Lin Chung using his wife which ends up in her own death to save Lin Chung.

Shi Shin is in love with a simple girl who works in a temple but the evil men of government kidnap the girl forcing Lin Chung and other heroes to try and help Shi Shin to save the girl.

A treasure has been collected to the evil Kao and is been sent to the capital; Lin Chung and his men try to stop the treasure from reaching Kao while Hu San-Niang and others have their own plan too.

Kao is after his treasure that was stolen by by Chao Kai; to ensure his safety, Chao Kai is invited to liang shan po but there are other schemes been plotted behind the scenes.

The Honourable judge is framed by a plot of Kao and now he is on the run; Lin Chung and his friends try to help the judge.

When the the honorable judge arrives at a friend's house, he finds that Kao men still after him; framed by the governor's wife, he tries to prove his innocence.

When the good judge falls in a trap set by one of Kao's men to drag Lin Chung out of his hideout, Lin Chung and his friends try to come up with a plan to save him.

The good judge is still prisoner at Kao's men hands; Lin Chung with the help of his friends device a plan to save him from hanging.

Lu Ta falls in love with singer but when her father sell her to the bandit's chief, Lu Ta with the help of Lin Chung and his friends rushes to rescue the girl.

Kao Chiu comes with a plan to capture Hua Rong who is hiding in the traveling circus but Lin Chong intervene to save his friend.

Kao's new men, the three brothers, working on a plan to set up the prime minister as well as Lin Chung and his friends.
