Sydney and her classmates don't feel comfortable after their teacher assigned everyone in the class to write about historical figures based on their race, so they decide to elect Sydney as their spokesperson to talk to their teacher.

Sydney is thrilled to be left home alone with her Grandma for a couple days since she usually lets her get away with almost anything. Sydney convinces her grandma Judy to let her have some friends over for a sleepover on a school night but Judy quickly realizes that Sydney may be taking advantage of her.
