Sergeant Cork

Bob Marriott first meets Cork at Scotland Yard, and assists him in an investigation of a poisoning case involving a beautiful young woman married to a rich but elderly war hero.

Cork and Marriott investigate the case of a young woman terrified by her cruel stepmother, as she slowly weakens under the supervision of doctor conducting a sadistic experiment.

Two thieves found dead in the Thames are identified, but Cork suspects they're stand-ins for the real crooks, and the proprietors of the sleazy waterfront dive, the "Adam and Eve" pub, know more about it than they're telling.

A woman is found dead, apparently strangled with a strangely knotted scarf. Leaving behind a husband some 26 years her senior.

Stage singer Kate Seymour is engaged to The Honourable James Stratton, but she's receiving poison own letters warning of his womanising.

A wealthy man of strong religious belief has apparently taken his own life, at the reading of his will it turns out he's left his wealth to his pious housekeeper as opposed to his estranged wife.

Nelly, the laundry maid is found dead in her employer's stables, strangely the coachman apparently slept through her murder.

The Army are called in when a group of protesters gather outside a Factory in an industrial protest, while spirits are high and the noise is loud, a man is shot dead, and one injured.

Manley, an MP, is killed in his living room, his wife and the maid see the killer fleeing the room, bizarrely the killer was let in through the front door

Young Woman Ella Barnes is discovered drowned. An employee in a sweat shop, she was due to give evidence against her employer, but was she killed to silence her?

Mr Klein, a known money lender and known to Sergeant Cork receives a strange request from a visitor, gold at a hugely reduced price.
