Wing Commander Julius Rogue is on hand to assist a deposed African Princess escape her home country of Baconga now ruled by the dictator Colonel M'Tusi. He flies her back to Rogue's Rock where he devises a plan to weaken the grip of the Colonel by flooding the country with propaganda leaflets and fake Bacongan banknotes. Meanwhile two Chinese spies in league with Colonel M'Tusi are sent in to retrieve royal regalia the Princess took with her.

Hawkins was supposed to fly as decoy to the Wing Commander's plan to return the Princess to Maconga, but he was injured in a plane accident so the Princess is being taught to fly as a replacement pilot. The two Chinese spies have landed on Rogue's Rock and try to escape with the royal regalia they have managed to steal. Princess Zina broadcasts an announcement to her loyal subjects on Radio Free Baconga.

Having been thwarted in their attempt to steal the royal mask, the Chinese spies are back again, but this time they kidnap the Princess and Hawkins, keeping them prisoner on a boat, and will only release them in return for the mask. The Wing Commander, Tom and Will devise a plan to rescue them, assisted by the Princess and Hawkins who have their own plan on the boat. Unfortunately while everyone is away two American spies steal the royal mask and so Rogue and the gang will have to come up with yet another recovery plan.

The royal mask has been returned to Colonel M'Tusi, who has been invited to Britain for a television interview on Baconga. Rogue devises a plan to intercept M'Tusi at the airport and replace him with a double, Will, who has been made up to look like him. With Princess Zina's help they manage to get to the TV studio ahead of M'Tusi, who is being diverted through London as a delaying tactic. They rescue the real mask from the TV studio and the Princess returns to Baconga in triumph as its true leader.

Rogue's Rock is flat broke and needs to come up with a way to boost its income. Will Polberry's fanciful idea for a casino is knocked in the head, but Tom thinks the way out is to increase the island's fishing industry to bring in much needed money. When Tom and marine biologist Jane Steele carry out a tape recording survey of the fishing waters they discover some unusual Russian sonar equipment and decide to investigate further. Meanwhile Russian and American agents have secretly returned to the island.

Russian and American agents are determined to be first to get hold of the tapes of sonar soundings made by Professor Jane Steele. Meanwhile Wing Commander Rogue entertains a US Admiral and a Russian delegate on a diplomatic mission.

Jan 19, 1976

American agents return to the island masquerading as nuns along with Russian agents disguised as Middle Eastern delegates. When Polberry and Hawkins realize what's going on they manage to overcome two of the Americans and board the USS Saratoga as nuns to try to discover what the Americans have planned for Rogue's Rock. Jane and Tom set up an offshore sonar detection device to monitor foreign submarine activity.

Jane and Tom begin preparations for the launch of the island's mini-sub Intrepid which they plan to use to thwart Russian and American plans to invade the island.

The Russian Bolshoi Ballet makes an appearance on Rogue's Rock and the USA brings their Metropolitan Opera, but an argument breaks out as to who should put on the first performance. Meanwhile the test run of the mini-sub leaves Jane and Tom stranded at the bottom of the ocean and in need of help. Russian and American fleets are anchored off the coast of the island in preparation for a full scale invasion.

Tom and Jane discover a man washed up on the shoreline who turns out to be Luigi, an Italian sailor whose boat was sunk during the previous night's storm. He has a valuable consignment of electronic equipment on board so Tom and Jane take their mini-sub The Intrepid down to recover it, leading the team to a kidnapping in Cornwall and a mysterious group of armed business rivals.

The gang travel to the mainland with a plan to rescue the kidnap victim, Spinetti, who turns out to be Luigi's boss. On returning to the island, Spinetti turns out to be a businessman who has perfected a method of turning cheap raw brandy into an expensive aged product which Wing Commander Rogue decides to use to boost the island's export trade. Jane has to return to the mainland but when she and Tom board their boat they are kidnapped at gunpoint by Luigi.

Feb 23, 1976

Spinetti and Luigi have taken control of Rogue's Rock and are using the islanders as slave labour in order to boost exports of their potato based fake brandy. Will Polberry sets up a resistance group and the gang come up with a plan to overthrow their invaders and take back control of the island, but their plan fails so they need to think of another way to deal with the Italians.

S02E13 · Mayday!

Mar 01, 1976

Tom and Jane manage to raise their sunken mini-sub Intrepid and intend to use it to reach the British mainland to get help. Meanwhile on the island Hawkins has accidentally sent out raw alcohol to Spinetti's international contacts who feel cheated and head for the island to take revenge. Having been alerted by a mayday signal the Royal Navy head for Rogue's Rock and round up all of the international gangs involved in the smuggling ring, leaving the island free from their captors.
