General Monroe sends Neville on a mission to determine who is helping Miles in his attempt to overthrow the republic.

While in Philadelphia, Neville discovers truths about were Miles held secret meetings and pressures a woman for the names of those who met with him.

Nevelle's search leads him to arrest a man, Renn, and he interrogates him for information on his dealings with Miles.

Nevelle returns to Independence hall and reports to General Monroe that Renn is the man who was working with Miles.

In an intense interrogation of his own, General Monroe threatens Neville's life and then promotes him and gives him a second task to perform.
