Bettan has been given a role in a play, but Rolf does not want her to take part. But when the producer of the play offers Rolf a role, he accepts and then he lets Betta take part.

The day before New Year's Eve. Betta expects her and Rolf to go out on New Year's Eve, but Rolf is so stingy that he refuses. To avoid going out with Bettan, Rolf agrees to an extra pass on the tram.

Rolf puts in the newspaper that he is the master of the house, but that doesn't make Bettan particularly happy. Rolf makes a bet with Henry on the tram that he can get Betta to cook a dinner by telling her out loud.

Bettan becomes a babysitter for some men, but Rolf misunderstands everything and thinks Betta is chasing men.

Conny, who is a window cleaner, has learned that Puts-Larsson is paid twice as much by Conny's biggest customer Axelsson. Rolf persuades Conny to bang his fist on the table and tell Axelsson to pay him the same as Puts-Larsson.

The landlord Jönsson raises the rent by SEK 50, but Rolf refuses to pay. Then Jönsson turns off all electricity and heat and Rolf locks himself and Bettan in the apartment to try to get Jönsson to surrender.

Rolf is to be in a commercial for candy, but things don't go well when he tries to learn the script. Rolf then happens to get a toothache and is then forced to go to the dentist Yngvesson.

Conny sleepwalks and Rolf, Bettan and Monica don't get any sleep. Rolf is then forced to live upstairs with Conny while Monica lives with Bettan.

The foreman on the tramway is retiring and Rolf has decided that he will be the new foreman, so he invites the traffic manager, the finance manager and the personnel manager to have a good time.

Rolf sees Bettan and Monica enter the maternity center and then he thinks that Bettan is pregnant, but it turns out that Bettan has got a job there.
