Detective Colette Cunningham takes a call from Dublin, where she has been named next of kin to her deceased daughter Kate, who vanished 20 years prior.

Surprised by her latest find, Colette travels to the hospital where Stacey worked to speak with those who knew her, in the hopes of understanding her daughter.

After a visit from organised crime, Collette is more suspicious than ever about Stacey's supposed suicide and pieces together clues that point to a culprit.

Colette is convinced that Stacey did not commit suicide, but does not have enough evidence. Despite the boss's repeated warnings, she continues the investigation herself. But colleague Siobhán finds out that Colette has not been completely honest. And when Liam shares two important pieces of information about her mother and sister with Colette, she discovers that the case goes much deeper than she first thought.

Colette works a case that brings her into contact with someone who knew Stacey, opening up a new lead.
