Deciding to propose to the president's daughter finds John under terrific pressure. Getting a suitable ring that he can afford yet not wanting to embarrass Nancy in front of the nation leaves him with a seemingly unsolvable dilemma.

When the President comes to town to meet Adam, a diligent secret service agent stops Adam from making the dinner.

Nancy and her fiance Adam, as a lark, decide to fill out computer dating cards. They assume they will be found to be a perfect match but the machine reveals the couple have very little in common which worries them.

Dr. Adam is fed up with the publicity surrounding his wedding to the president's daughter. Without telling Nancy he comes up with a unique way to deal with it.

Nancy and Adam shelve plans for a honeymoon in Europe when they realize how many people would join them. They choose a lodge at a remote lake instead but learn that being the president's daughter means very little privacy.

Nancy and Adam have their hearts set on living in a historic farmhouse so they try to get it at auction. But a stranger wins the house instead and the new bride must figure out a way to persuade him to part with it.

Nancy and Adam are very eager to start their life as a married couple in their new home. But they move in a little too soon as the house has no electricity or phone plus the furniture has yet to be delivered.

The honeymoon phase of Adam and Nancy's marriage is frequently interrupted by her duties as the president's daughter. Adam's frustration mounts as Nancy tries to find a happy balance.

Abby finds romance with a new admirer Jim Nielson. But that finds Uncle Everett feeling jealous and he works zealously to undermine the relationship.

Nancy joins a women's group to have something to do during Adam's poker night. But the two soon realize they are happier being with just each other.

Nancy and Adam are surprised by their gift from English aristocrats, the Halfords, which is a butler. The novelty of Milton waiting on them is enjoyable at first but they begin to resent their loss of privacy.

John and Nancy find themselves in a little financial trouble and it gets back to the White House. Suddenly the couple are receiving too much help from the federal government which turns a small problem into a larger one.

Nancy falls in love with a stray dog that shows up in the middle of the night. She must convince her veterinarian husband Adam that they should keep the pooch.
