2 girls meet at an orphanage. They get adopted - one lucky and one unlucky ends in Japan. Unlucky Miri returns to S Korea and tries to get a new start looking for work. Getting work permit and a job requires a college degree or a lie.

Mi Ri tells an escalating series of lies in order to stay in Korea. Yoo Hyun, grandson of the president of Mondo Resorts, arrives to look over Hotel A. Hye Jung obtains a job as a maid in the very same hotel her father designed.

A shocked Hee Joo is arrested for fraud after it appears her diploma was used illegally. Myung Hoon drives Miri home and takes the opportunity to give her a passionate kiss.

Lee Hwa offers information concerning hotel problems but Myung Hoon is angry with her disclosure. Miri uses her connections to get the starring role in a commercial for the hotel.

Myung Hoon tells Miri that Yoo Hyun will one day take over the Mondo Group. A frustrated Hirayama tries to physically hurt Miri and Hee Joo witnesses the violent event.

Hee Joo is interested in beginning a relationship with Yoo Hyun but Chul Jin tries to change her mind. Miri receives a proposal from Myung Hoon but she cannot give him an answer.

Hiraymana wants to see Miri at the hotel but he takes time to talk with Myung Hoon instead. Chul Jin takes Hee Joo to the hospital after she falls and Yoo Hyun meets them there.

Myung Hoon and Yoo Hyun visit a jewelry shop but they are unaware that Miri is dating both men. Chul Jin tries to keep Hee Joo from getting hurt as Yoo Hyun and Miri's relationship continues.

Yoo Hyun creates a media storm as people wonder about his mysterious girlfriend. Myung Hoon and Hirayama have a meeting to discuss Miri's past as they search for more information.

Yoo Hyun looks into Miri's background and finds that the adoption influenced her past. Lee Hwa goes to a private locked box and reads documents that reveal an important piece of information.

Lee Hwa is happy Yoo Hyun overheard the conversation between Miri and Myung Hoon. Myung Hoon's mother dies and there is suspicion that Miri's confrontation with her caused the sudden death.

Hirayama tells Yoo Hyun about Miri but she tries to stop him before he can reveal any information. Yoo Hyun calls off the engagement to Miri as he looks at his own life.

The authorities take Miri into custody for falsifying documents about Hankook University. Lee Hwa worries that she cannot meet Miri because of her difficult choice to give up a child.

Miri is shocked to learn her mother's true identity after a surprise meeting. Yoo Hyun and Hirayama fight to choose Miri's fate as she threatens to end her life in a spectacular way.

Miri thinks about Lee Hwa while recovering from a serious accident. A full confession sends Miri to prison but she starts a new life as her mother travels to America.
