On the "Junior Edition" of MASTERCHEF, America's Top 19 junior home cooks are introduced to their first mystery box challenge, in which they must make a complete restaurant-quality dish using any of the ingredients they are given. The winner of the challenge will have a significant advantage and select which of the judges' favorite pastas the remaining contestants will prepare in the elimination round. Later, the top junior home cooks with the best dishes will advance in the competition.

Before the next challenge, three of the junior home cooks will face a sweet competition as they race to top all of their pies with whipped meringue.

Twelve cooks remain for a mystery box challenge using ingredients that get better with age. Later, the contestants work with the most dangerous protein in the show's history.

A pantry hunt pits the winners from the previous challenge against one another to match the most ingredients in the time allotted. Later, the 10 remaining contestants team up in pairs to complete an elaborate sushi dish.

Banana dishes are created by the eight remaining contestants. Later, Gordon Ramsay's daughter Mathilda introduces the next elimination challenge of preparing a family favorite involving salmon.

The six remaining junior home cooks take on their restaurant takeover challenge.

Twenty crème brulee desserts are prepared by the four remaining contestants, who then tackle a difficult raspberry treat before two cooks are selected to move on to the season finale.

Two finalists compete for a trophy and a $100,000 prize.
