But before the first two couples say "I do", all 16 brides and grooms come together at stag and hen parties, to celebrate their last night of freedom. Then, at the first weddings of the series, one bride has serious doubts the minute she reaches the end of the aisle, while another couple find an instant connection.

Another four strangers take the ultimate gamble on love and tie the knot with a total stranger. While one bride gets more than she bargained for, an overprotective friend threatens to spoil the big day for a groom and his new husband.

The next phase of the experiment begins, as the first four couples embark on luxury honeymoons in the sun. But while this trip of a lifetime brings some of the newlyweds closer together, for others their compatibility is tested to breaking point.

Two more couples meet for the very first time on their wedding day. Could one groom's surprise announcement leave him stranded by a runaway bride? And a twice-married single mum hopes to find love that will last.

Four more singles decide to embark on the wildest social experiment on television, agreeing to marry a perfect stranger and meeting them for the first time on their wedding day. But whilst one wife hopes to meet the woman of her dreams, another bride's high expectations could be a recipe for disaster.

The next group of newlyweds fly off to tropical climes, as the four couples enjoy the most luxurious of honeymoons. But whilst fun in the sun is on the cards for some, others find the break away far from blissful.

A brand-new chapter of the experiment begins for all of the couples, as they gather together for their first dinner party. Under the watchful eye of experts, Mel, Paul and Charlene, the couples meet as a group for the very first time and drama is definitely on the menu.

It's a pivotal part of the process--the first Commitment Ceremony, where the couples meet to discuss their marriages with the experts and also make a critical decision. Do they stay in the process and continue working on their relationships or will they decide to leave, walking away from their marriages and the experiment altogether?

It's Yes Week for the couples, as the experts set them an exercise to explore power play in their marriages. For most it's an exciting week, as the couples move in and start living together for the very first time, but one groom has to unpack his bags alone, as his bride takes some time out to make the most difficult decision. Will she stay in the process or leave the experiment altogether?

It's the second dinner party of the experiment, but whilst most eagerly anticipate the evening ahead, two grooms are left to arrive alone. And the Honesty Box challenge turns up the heat after dinner--leaving one bride furious and wanting everyone to know.

It's time for another Commitment Ceremony, where the couples get the opportunity to discuss the week with Mel, Paul and Charlene. But important decisions lie ahead--who will stay on in the experiment and who has come to the end of the road?

Wedding bells chime once more, as two new surprise couples meet each other for the first time at the end of the aisle. But whilst one couple discover they have an electric connection, one groom has last minute second thoughts, leaving their families fearing he may not even show up.

The final two couples in the experiment get to enjoy their honeymoons, but whilst one forges a deeper connection, the other's explosive trip away ends in near disaster. And for some of the couples back at home it's Intimacy week, with expert Charlene dishing out the homework, with varying degrees of success.

It's the third dinner party of the series but little do the couples know that newcomers Gemma and Matt and Sophie and Johnathan are about to crash the party. But whilst Gemma can't wait to make friends with the girls, a feud erupts between other members of the group which threatens to destroy their friendships.

It's the half-way point of the series and a pivotal time in the process, as the experts deliver some hard-hitting truths to help the couples progress on their journey. And for the newest couples to the experiment, it's time to take to the couch, as their marriages are put under the microscope for the very first time.

It's Love/Hate week for the couples, as the experts set them exercises to improve their honesty and communication. But tensions run high at the apartments, when a comment from Johnathan lands him hot water and one bride threatens to leave the experiment for good.

It's the Couple's Retreat, a chance for everyone to escape the routine of life in the apartments and embark on a weekend in the countryside together. But an innocent game turns the party upside down, as not only are old feuds are reignited, a connection forms between a bride and groom...that aren't married to each other.

The Couple's Retreat continues with a fiery banquet dinner. As uncomfortable details of the previous days games circulate a horrified Gemma discovers her husband Matt has eyes for fellow contestant Whitney.
