Stubby loans cash to a composer down on his luck and the man in returns gifts one of his songs. Stubby thinks he has a hit but must scheme to get the work published.

The staff of Harris publishing are delighted when secretary Sophie announces plans to get married. As a wedding gift her boss William will publish a song of written by her fiance.

Stubby rearranges Steve's song and it becomes a Big Hit after Sophie sings it on TV.

Bill and his son-in-law Steve argue about how best to keep the apartment clean.

A baby is born to a younger composer's wife in Pat's apartment, where they had come to ask for another advance from Bill. The whole household is disrupted, and Steve says in the show "From Dixieland to Diapers in 15 Minutes."

The neighbor boy Hans does well in a quiz show and his inflated ego makes him difficult to be around.

Bill Harris and his tune touter, Stubby, part temporarily. Stubby refuses to accept a better job from a rival publisher out of loyalty to his boss. Bill hires a hotshot youngster to make Stubby resign to improve himself. Pat and Steve connive in a job to bring Bill and Stubby back together again.
