When Jackson gets into a fight with his mother, and sleeps with his best friend Kate, his life begins a downward spiral leading him to tough decisions. Jackson loses his job and quits college. With no one and nowhere to go, Jackson decides his only way out may be suicide.

As Jackson and Jaime start to get closer, Kate goes to Rhonda for advice. When Jackson takes Kate to a family dinner and Laura shows up, sparks fly, meanwhile Sam and Erin get caught having dinner by Jake, then they have to make a decision that will shape their relationship forever.

With things going smoothly for Jackson and Kate, Jackson decides to meet Jaime's brother, Albert, in hopes of doing a show together, but he finds himself traveling down memory lane instead. This look back shows some of Kate and Jackson's history. Before long Jackson's current situation is slammed back into his face and he has to decide where he's going to sleep.

With Kate's parents on the way home from Africa, Rhonda does some nifty re-decorating. Jackson, now living under a bridge, meets a new friend named Mindy. Sam's situation takes a turn for the worse, and Erin gets some news that devastates her.

With Mark sick, Jackson tries to talk Erin into auditioning for Alberts movie to help her relax. Kate and Jackson continue to move further apart, and Jackson finds out some nasty Burress family secrets. A surprise visitor shows up to greet Jackson, and Erin finds herself in a scary situation.

Erin makes it to the hospital and Mark arrives soon after, only to collapse with all of the excitement. Jackson tries to reach Sam, but can't and soon confronts his best friend in a move that will challenge their friendship. Sam's drug abuse continues, and Jackson is discovered living under the bridge with Mindy.

Jackson and Ray decide to confront Sam about his drug habit, and Kate finally breaks the news to Jackson about her moving. Mindy reveals a secret about her scary past, while Jaime decides to take on Albert about the night at the audition.

A fun Scooby Doo parody, The gang decides to get together at Erin's house for some movies while her Dad is out of town. When they show up, Erin is missing and there are odd clues around to help them solve the mystery. A fun satire, "A Mystery of Errors" gives the gang a break from all the "drama" and focuses on their friendships. But, after Erin is returned, Kate and Jackson find themselves bickering again.

In an attempt to rebuild their relationship, Jackson invites Kate to a city dance. While they are there with the rest of the group, Mark collapses and takes a turn for the worse. Erin has to deal with him and a few more secrets in the closet and one of the main characters commits suicide in a stunning turn of events.

It's the day of Michelle's departure and while the Drisco family is going through the motions, Jackson must deal with the death of a loved one. A delay getting to the burial forces Jackson to break a promise to Kate and in return, Kate ends their tumultuous relationship once and for all. A powerful episode with a surprise ending.

With Kate now beaming about her new relationship with Sam, Jackson wakes up at Jaime's house with no recollection of how he got there. Jackson finds out more about Bi-Polar disorder and learns that Ray suffers from the disease as well. Jake confronts Sam about their struggles and by the end, new relationships are blossoming in full.

It's the seventh, Jackson's birthday and while Jaime wants to do something special for him, he just wants to figure out what to do about Kate. Kate talks with Erin and finds out about Mindy and the bridge, then is forced with a tough decision and Mark takes a turn for the worse in this stunning season finale.
