Bo is an eighteen-year-old high school senior. As graduation looms ahead, most of Bo's classmates are ready to venture out of the Valley to attend college and join the "real world". While some of his classmates feel that they cannot find success in the Valley, Bo's pride pushes him to prove to everyone that one person can make anything happen no matter where they are from. However, Bo is tested when his class is assigned one simple question for the final assignment: "What are your proud of?" This leaves Bo to question everything he believed in. As graduation looms, Bo goes through another day of high school dealing with people who can't help but be excited to move on to the next stage in their lives, including his friends. As he contemplates more and more about his final project, Bo opens up to Niki and learns more about her along the way.

After dropping Niki to her boyfriend's place, Bo has an intense discussion with his father, who constantly puts pressure on him to be successful. The next day, Bo confides in his best friend, Han, as he tries to figure out what to do next.

Bo rushes to find Niki by herself at the viewpoint after getting a worrisome call from Han. Not knowing what has unfolded, Bo learns more about Niki's hidden life.
