Mr. and Mrs. Ho usually go abroad at Christmas, but now, with their niece Holly foisted on them, plans change. But their son Tim isn't keen to spend Christmas together, and worse, their daughter Carol breaks up with her longtime boyfriend.

As the Ho family tries their best to cheer up a heartbroken Carol, Tim tries to make amends with his father. But his efforts are misunderstood, and the whole family gets trapped in a lift. Could things get worse?
