Five months after the dramatic events of the series 7 finale, the students are preparing for exam season, while the teachers deal with the aftermath of the attack - and some new relationships.

Stephanie attends her brother's plea hearing. Donna and Colin celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Math prepares his Mathletes team.

Annest has a health scare, and asks Aled take her to the hospital as Math can't be reached. Stephanie tries to avoid Llywela after Mei's discoveries.

The chief inspection team visits the school on the same day of the class trip for Ceri and Aled's classes and of the Mathletes tournament.

Gwenno tries to contact Llywela, who's taken time off school. Aled continues to deny he's taking painkillers, but Ceri doesn't believe him.

Annest worries as the date of the birth nears. Steph has to ask Llywela back to work to fill in for Aled. Dylan realises that Macsen and Nicky are in touch again, while Lucas breaks up with Carla.

On the last day of the school year, Ceri's photo is circulated around the school. Annest feels Math is avoiding her. Dylan and Macsen get into a fight.

On exam day, Steph has to deal with the aftermath of the photo scandal, and Nicky tries to get revenge on Dylan. Math gets surprising news. Aled reaches out to Annest.

Macs and Dylan continue to fight, with Donna torn between the two and Colin ignoring the situation. Ceri has her disciplinary hearing with the board of governors. Steph refuses Llywela's attempts to reconcile.

Summer Fair - and Annest's last day - finally arrives, with all staff on hand, until Math leaves early for his interview, Ceri feels unwelcome, and Colin doesn't return from a restocking errand.
