Daphne's ex-fiancé Clive visits her in Seattle to declare that he still loves her. Rather than tell him she can't see a future for them, she pretends to be married to Niles.

Roz sets Frasier up with her friend Sharon, but Bulldog steals her away. After spending the weekend with her, Bulldog shocks both Frasier and Roz by falling in love with her. Martin searches for the maker of his classic shoes.

Frasier is tormented by a recurring erotic dream in which he wakes up in a cheap hotel bed with Gil Chesterton. He desperately searches for any psychological explanation besides the obvious one.

Frasier and Niles are thrilled to catch sight of T.H. Houghton, a reclusive author from their youth. They are aggravated, however, when Martin forms a friendship with the man but they are consistently unable to meet him.

Niles fills in for Frasier during his week-long leave of absence and his advice to one of Bulldog's guests, a basketball player, turns his game around.

When Joe breaks up with Daphne, Niles is eager to make his move, but Frasier advises him to wait a day. He does, but meanwhile Roz takes Daphne to a singles bar where she meets Rodney.

Niles' plans for a 'rustic' thanksgiving (complete with mints on the pillows) are scuppered when Lilith arranges a meeting with the headmaster of the Marbury Academy, an exclusive school, with the aim of getting Frederick in.

When Martin feels guilty that Frasier and Niles are always providing for him, he buys them each a gift. Unfortunately, Martin's taste differs dramatically from that of his sons.

When Martin's policewoman girlfriend Maureen breaks up with him, he's delighted and takes up with McGinty's barmaid Sherry. Frasier and Niles can't stand her, but neither has the guts to say so.

Feeling guilty when he discovers that his prep-school prank got a bully expelled, he tracks the man down and learns that he's in prison.

Frasier runs for condo board president, against the tyrannical Ms. Langer. Niles lends his apartment to Martin for a romantic evening with Sherry, but inadvertently walks in on the two of them in flagrante.

Eddie is feeling depressed, and Martin calls a dog psychiatrist. Frasier and Niles make fun of the idea, but ruminating about the possible reasons for Eddie's funk leads them to dwell on all the reasons to be unhappy with their own lives.

Frasier and Niles, on a whim, share a table at Cafe Nervosa with two attractive women, which develops into a double date and then a weekend trip to the country.

Niles invites his new neighbors over for a dinner party, but has trouble removing his new pet bird from the top of his head.

Roz is sentenced to community service for a speeding ticket. Visiting elderly people in a retirement home, she panics when one, and then another of her charges dies suddenly.

When Frasier's son Frederick arrives for a visit, Frasier wants everything to go perfectly. However, Bulldog convinces young Frederick that Frasier is the best softball player on the station's team, so Frederick wants to watch.

An on-air spot opens at KACL, and Roz decides to go forward for it with Frasier's blessing. When the interview goes well, Frasier is happy for Roz but notes to Bebe that he will be very sorry to lose her if she does get the position.

Frasier tries to direct an old-time radio drama for KACL, but his over-directing turns the show into a complete disaster - just as Niles predicted.

Martin and Sherry's sudden breakup wreaks havoc with Frasier's love life. Just when Frasier had scored a personal best-three different dates on three consecutive nights-Martin's love life comes crashing down on both of them.

Frasier is battling the flu and in no mood to help anyone, Sherry is staying over with Martin more frequently, and she and Daphne are finding themselves embroiled in minor clashes over Martin's breakfast.

Niles suggests to Maris that they go into marriage counseling; she responds by serving him with divorce papers.

Over coffee at Cafe Nervosa, Niles asks Frasier if he thinks Niles and Maris are meant to be together. Frasier typically over-analyzes the question.

When Roz backs out of dinner plans with Frasier because of a date with a new man, Frasier's search for a new dinner companion makes him realise everyone else has someone in their lives.
