Free-spirit, Addie Hall, meets Iraq War vet, Zack Bowen in New Orleans' French Quarter in 2005. The two beautiful, passionate-but-damaged 20-somethings fall in love during Hurricane Katrina. Their happiness peaks in the eerie, empty days right after the storm. But when the city comes back to life and the "real-world" invades their paradise, passion turns to pain and Zack's long-hidden demons emerge one horrifying night.

MaryJane Baker Longo is happy. She is a wife, a mother of three and a devout Jehovah's Witness. Her handsome husband, Christian, is a charming go-getter and is making a great life for his family. When Chris wants to pack up the family and drive cross-country, MaryJane is excited - a chance to see America. Young healthy cop, Glenn Turner, dies of strange but "natural" causes. His grieving wife, Lynn, a 911 operator, remarries shortly afterward. With the help of Glenn's determined mother, Randy's sister and an eleventh-hour exhumation, these intrepid cop-buddies put together the pieces of the puzzle and learn the terrible truth about what happened to their friend.

Police have a lead on who might have been responsible, but the investigation quickly hits a brick wall and it looks like the case will go unsolved. Then an unlikely hero emerges. Andrew's mother, determined to find her son's killer, takes the investigation into her own hands and lights the fuse that blows the case wide open and brings the guilty to justice.

But when a surprise witness takes the stand and tells what he saw the night Nina disappeared, it forces the killer to reveal himself AND lead authorities to Nina's body.
