Just as Ed and Carol grow closer Bonnie returns. Nancy quits her job leaving Mike as the only wage earner in a job he hates. Warren is accused of criminal behavior when he provides beer to someone injured and Ed takes his case.

Ed's new client George MacPherson wants to change his name, thinking it will change his life. Carol is having a personality issue with her new boss Dennis Martino. Mike can't work the nerve to quit so he starts doing quirky things at work.

Ed's client Ron Leveritt is being sued by an employee because of the outfits he asks them to wear. Molly is against him taking the case. Mike wants his wife to have another baby. Carol wants her students to read The Great Gatsby.

Dr. Crazy, a children's entertainer, needs Ed as a lawyer when he's sued for what advice he gave to a kid. Molly is unsure where a new relationship is headed with Jim. Warren makes a fool of himself at a pep rally despite his friend's warning.

Ed takes a divorce case representing Sonja, who might have married for a green card. He also contacts ex-wife Liz to get closure. Phil investigates who's giving away free games. Mike finds he has more to learn from Dr. Jerome.

Ed becomes obsessed with Joe Baxter, another attorney who owns a bowling alley. Carol continues her rants about Dennis Martino while Philip is shadowed by a strange dude. Warren tells people he's on the wrestling team when he's not.

Dennis gets sued with a bogus $10,000 lawsuit and Ed tries to discern the real reason he'd prefer to pay the outrageous settlement rather than have his day in court. Ed also becomes suspicious of the relationship between Dennis and Carol.

Carol urges Ed to take the case of drama teacher Arnold Bancroft, fired because of racism but Ed suspects homophobia. Carol is reluctant to give up her old car. Diane's cousin Alison helps Warren create an exclusive party.

Ed is concerned when his client Leonard Prescott wants to practice philanthropy on a scale he can't afford. Carol is jealous when Dennis seems to have a girlfriend. Mike and Nancy differ on how to raise their daughter.

Ed takes his friend Bob's controversial case when he learns celebrity lawyer Siringo wants to replace him. Mike tries to quit but Dr. Jerome holds him to his contract. Warren thinks being the class clown will make him popular.

Ed is hired by Kaye Pazzuti to watch her husband Ralph for two days in a fidelity situation. Carol and Dennis finally talk things out and begin a relationship but Ed gets hurt. Warren and Jessica go on a bad date.

Ed defends Kate who is accused of stealing but she claims for a good cause, against a politically ambitious prosecutor. Ed also starts a relationship with Kate. Carol gets Nancy hired as a teacher but it doesn't turn out well.

Ed and Carol disagree about reuniting Ed's high school band to play at a funeral of the bands songwriter; Molly tutors Phil in chemistry so that he can pass his G.E.D. exam; Warren spends an enchanted week dating Jessica and commemorated the event with an infinity tattoo.

Ed meets a new woman Jennifer who encourages him to do crazy things and he believes they have a connection. Molly is devastated to learn Jim is married. Warren has an unflattering video of Carol and wants to broadcast it.

Ed helps mild mannered attorney Barry Glerp take on a huge trucking firm disrupting the quiet town. Dennis gives a too honest critique of a story Carol wrote. Molly won't listen to Jim's explanation of his marriage.

A Judge and long term mentor of Eds is troubled and Ed and Carol put their own lives on hold for a few days to try and help. Mike enlists a consultant to bring in new business. Carol's growing fondness for Dennis doesn't go unnoticed by Ed.

Ed's brother Lloyd visits with a plan to double the bowling alley's profits. Nancy gets involved with someone from an online Billy Joel fan club. Warren meets a girl at a college party.

Mike's casual attitude at work leads to a sexual harassment suit and he doubts Ed is the lawyer for him. Carol tries to write an interesting article for the local paper but finds only normalcy. Phil strikes because of Ed's take home food policy.

Ed is excited about getting a second chance at a crucial basketball shot he missed in high school. Phil tries to help facilitate a relationship between Shirley and Jack. Molly finally ends things with Jim after seeing him with his wife.

Ed is estatic when asked to coach the high school quiz bowl team. Carol asks him to pay special attention to Gary who has low self esteem. Dennis starts drinking again. Phil promotes fight night at the bowling alley.

Ed makes a drastic move to derail Dennis and Carol's relationship when they are planning on moving in together. Warren wants to ask Diane out but now has competition from Mark. Dennis makes a point concerning a student election.

During the end of school year carnival Warren handles Mark and Diane's dating immaturely. Ed and Carol get stuck on the ferris wheel and discuss their feelings. Phil tries to rig the Stuckeyville talent competition so he can win.
