Brie Sylvain leaves Canada for Oasis IL. Bad luck quickly befalls her when she is coerced into breaking a mirror. The events that follow rapidly escalate as journalist Nathan Harris attempts to undo the damage and save Brie from herself.

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer as deep snow isolates Oasis. Local news anchor Maya Hale is put to the test to see just how far she is willing to go to make things right, learning the hard way that a Jinx is more than just a word game. Especially in this town.

Alexander Briteon will try anything to ease his nightmares and get a decent nights rest, but he gets more than he bargained for when he borrows a dream catcher from Daye Warren. When Alex's nightmares become a waking reality, paranormal investigator Tucker Grimes offers his services. Some secrets are harder to bury than others, just like Annabelle Warren.

Nate and Maya investigate the Oasis murders as Tawnya Gerter, resident witch, casts a spell that backfires and reveals her true self. Used to pulling the strings, she will finally learn what it feels like to have someone jerking her chain. It is just unfortunate for her that Tuck happens to be that someone.

The identities of Alex's nightmares are revealed, after which Tuck's conviction is tested. His job was easier to do when targeting strangers, but unraveling Oasis's secret society of supernatural beings puts the people closet to him on trial. Once willing to execute cryptids for any reason, Tuck finds himself grasping at straws for an excuse not to.
