Upon the discovery of a human corpse, Sam Kent, detectives of the Wiltshire Homicide Squad set out to find out who committed the crime. Ronan O'Malley believes it to be a shut and close suicide case, but his partner, Jason Burke believes it to be something much more.

Jason Burke and Ronan O'Malley argue whether this is just a shut and close suicide case or much more. They discover that the corpse, Sam Kent, has a next of kin, Jamie Kent and instead of having a quick chat with him, something else occurs.

After arresting Jamie Kent on suspicion of murder, detectives Jason Burke and Ronan O'Malley interrogate the suspect, but as Jamie Kent is about to tell them something important about the death of his brother, the worst of the worst happens.

After the worst occurs to the suspect, Jason Burke is conflicted about the events that took place which makes Ronan O'Malley frustrated and Angry. Later on, Jason Burke discovers something sinister within a box addressed to him and finds out that Ronan O'Malley hasn't been as honest as he thought.

In the finale of Dead Man Walking, Jason Burke attempts to rescue his friend, Alex from the clutches of Crime Lord Seth and his intimidating henchmen. Ronan O'Malley tells Jim to send backup and tries to protect his best friend, Jason Burke.
