When criminal profiler Louise Bergstein gets a phone call from an old family friend, she looks into a cold case involving multiple murders from years ago.

Louise starts her new job and the police identify the latest victim. As they try to find a link between the murders and a motive, the killer plans for his next attack.

The police launch a huge search for William, suspecting he's been taken by the killer. Meanwhile, Johannes celebrates his birthday.

As the police prepare a public appeal to find new leads on the killer, Alice offers a reward for information. Louise's boyfriend comes to visit her.

As police investigate the latest death, Louise struggles to accept what has happened. Peter is made an offer, but his son, Johannes, suspects he is up to something.

Illona holds a memorial for her brother, Kasper. Meanwhile, the police track down the USB stick found at Alice's and Louise comes face to face with the killer, Peter Vinge.

Unaware of who he really is, Louise gets far too close to Peter. But the terrible truth lurks beneath the surface. Karina tries to find new evidence for the investigation.

The police take Johannes to the station, and Louise fears that the truth about her and Peter Vinge will be revealed. Meanwhile, Peter meets his ex-wife Masja.
