Pupils at a Chinese school receive a letter from a school in Russia asking them to help protect the spoon-billed sandpiper. In Tibet, a trainee monk teaches environmental husbandry to nomads. A young girl fights to overcome her deafness.

A young monk discovers that a new dam threatens the habitat of the snow leopard. Four children investigate a mystery illness in their town. A worried mother stands up to a factory that she believes is causing cancer in local people.

Novice monk Gama discovers that a huge open cast mine threatens to contaminate the Yellow River. Ms Wu finds that a local factory is releasing poisonous hydrogen cyanide and 4 journalists highlight the plight of the spoon-billed sandpiper.

Novice monk Gama travels across the plateau to visit the world's largest Tibetan monastery. The four young journalists sign up schools across Asia to their campaign to save the endangered spoon-billed sandpiper.

Novice monk Gama prepares to begin a new life in the stunningly beautiful Wumingsi Monastery. Crusading reporter Xu comes under attack for his battle against electrofishing. Have the young journalists won the competition they entered?
