Neighbors, relatives, or friends are chosen, then not allowed back into their own home during the two-day makeover period during which anything goes, from knocking out fireplaces, building wall units, or painting walls with unbelievably bright colors to fit in with a decorating scheme that--hopefully--will appeal to the room's occupants.
