Fresh from their honeymoon, Gavin and Prue are invited for a weekend at Prue's parent's home, but Prue's father, Peter, despises Gavin and the weekend quickly becomes tense.

Peter gets a new secretary, Sarah, who with her two boyfriends and an alcoholic father is not as angelically pure as she seems. Gavin feels emasculated by Peter, so when Prue suggests asking him for a loan, he hits her.

While his wife and daughter are away on their holidays, Peter starts spending more time with Sarah, who is looking for a father figure. When things between them heat up, he takes her to Prue's apartment.
Jan 30, 1976
When Prue finds out about Peter's affair, she begins feeling jealous of Sarah and hurt that he doesn't pay as much attention to her as he used to. Things come to a head over a birthday dinner.
Feb 06, 1976
Gavin lands Prue in hospital which she uses to guilt Peter into loving her again. Cassie tries to reconcile with Peter by admitting to him her own affair. After this ploy backfires she sleeps with Gavin.
Feb 13, 1976
Prue goes into labor and everyone starts having premonitions of her death. Sarah, tired of Peter living with her, receives an offer to move to Frankfurt.
Feb 20, 1976
Prue delivers a baby girl, Sarah moves to Frankfurt, Peter and Cassie reconcile and everything seems fine until tragedy strikes.
