Tallon believes that there is a Special Branch plant in the house. Simon is shot by unknown assailant and dumped in the river. Tallon is taken to the police station and badly beaten up by PC McAllister on the the orders of Hardekker.

Inspector Chapman discovers the gun that killed Simon was Tallion's. However he discovers that his brother Jonathan did not die in the explosion but a meeting backfires when psychopathic Jason is waiting for him.
