Xie Xiang cuts her hair to become Xie Liangchen, her brother, as she applies at Arsenal Military Academy. But first, she goes out with Tan Xiaojun to make sure she can pass as a male in public but attracts some unwanted attention.

Egos interfere when the students arrive at the school and everyone gets punished. Gu Yanzhen doesn't get any special treatment when he arrives at the school. Director Guo takes advantage of Gu's situation.

Gu Yanzhen continues to make trouble and get Xie Liangchen into trouble with him. Xie Xiang runs away from meeting Qu Manting after Shen Junshan shows up but Gu Yanzhen gets a glimpse of her on the street.

Xie Xiang's father has come to town so she takes leave from the Academy and attend a party on her father's arm. Unbeknownst to her, it is hosted by the Shen family and Gu Yanzhen is also present.

Gu Yanzhen sees Xie Xiang fleeing the party and his active imagination starts him wondering. A field exercise turns more dangerous than expected.

Xie Liangchen is injured and Qu Manting knocks out Gu Yanzhen. Shen Tingbai confronts Sato Kazuo. Xie Liangchen's secret is almost revealed when he runs into Qu Manting and Gu Yanzhen at the bar where Tan Xiaojun works.

Gu Yanzhen is called away to try to prevent his sister from getting in trouble. A group of cadets are punished but Xie Liangcheng heeded a warning and didn't participate. Gu Yanzhen leads them in making trouble for the Japanese prisoners.

The imprisoned Japanese are released to the OCO sparking unrest at the academy - but they don't get far. Gu Qiqi witnesses an important event and is determined to find the hero. The Japanese contingent feel the same need.

Xie Liangchen suffers a setback during testing. Gu Qiqi sneaks on campus to find her hero but is overheard and accosted after.

During a holiday Xie Liangchen is invited to Huang Song's home. Tan Xiaojun and Gu Yanzheng object without explaining their reasons and, along with Qu Manting, invite themselves along. Huo Xiaoyu recalls past troubles.

Huo Xiaoyu settles an old score but Guo Shuting laments his absence from the act. Gu Yanzhen and Qu Manting playact in front of Shen Tingbai. Xie Liangchen gets drunk but doesn't remember what she revealed to Gu Yanzhen.

Xie Liangchen is criticized for being weak and not having the drive to win. Guo Shuting offers him extra training. The students are woken for an actual mission but when a bomb is triggered trust is put to a test. Shen Junshan is injured.

Gu Yanzhen feels jealous of the attention Xie Liangchen gives Shen Junshan. He gets in trouble to make himself sick but doesn't receive the care he was expecting. Xie Liangchen tries every trick to avoid a health exam.

Qu Manting plots to help Shen Tingbai restore his reputation. Xie Liangchen is stuck in the public shower with Shen Junshan a couple stalls away. Qu Manting is resilient after her charity dinner preparations are sabotaged.

Qu Manting's fundraiser is a success, on many counts. Xie Liangchen compares Qu Manting's narcissism to Gu Yanzhen's. Li Wenzhong is finally found and final exams are taken. Everyone leaves for the New Year.

Xie Xiang returns home and resumes her role as a daughter and meets some patriotic students returning from studying in Japan on the way. Gu Yanzhen accompanies his father to Peking and pays a visit to Xie Xiang's family.

Oda Hiroshi wants the student protesters killed. Gu Yanzhen escapes jail but fails to release the others. During transportation a gun fight breaks out. Gu Yanzhen agrees to leave. Xie Xiang participates in the protests.

Xie Xiang's father forbids her from leaving the house after she participates in a march but she secretly returns to school. Huang Song demands to meet Xie Xiang and students begin returning, except for Gu Yanzhen and Shen Junshan.

Xie Liangchen gets a new roommate. After passing out, Xie Liangchen is taken to the infirmary where Guo Shuting starts to question him. Gu Yanzhen's engagement is announced in the newspaper. Qu Manting is desperate to get to Nanjing.

Qu Manting is especially keen to get Gu Yanzhen out of his engagement but his fiancee resists. Xie Liangchen and others board a train but get separated when escaping a conflict.

Xie Liangchen and Shen Jushan are hunted by the Japanese as they try to get off the mountain. Qu Manting fearlessly rescues Gu Yanzhen from his engagement but is disappointed when he can't return her affection.

When the artifact is lost, Xie Liangchen only suspects Jin Xianrong and starts to pay closer attention to details about her. Gu Yanzhen is jealous of Shen Junshan's closeness to Xie Liangchen.

Qu Manting loses her acting contract. Xie Liangchen returns to school to find she has a familiar roommate. Gu Yanzhen's jealousy grows. Shen Junshan finds an orphanage for Lingdang.

Xie Liangchen suspects that Jin Xianrong is the one who stole the artifact. She follows one of the Japanese contacts she sees and is surprised when they attack Shen Junshan on his way to Rong Mansion.

Qu Manting approaches Guo Shuting to request that a specific academy student provide protection for her. Xie Liangchen saves Gu Qiqi from a riding accident. Qu Manting recognizes Jin Xianrong's name from the incident at Rong Mansion.

Qu Manting gets an invitation to present at an auction and Xie Liangchen recognizes the imprint of the royal seal. There are many players present and many schemes afoot. The royal family also attends.

Huang Song finds the seal. Jin Xiangrong helps them escape from a barrage of gunfire in her car but lets off all but Shen Junshan at a hotel where the enemy unknowingly awaits. Qu Manting takes the team out to drink.

Gu Yanzhen's animosity makes Shen Junshan start to worry about his friendship with Xie Liangchen. Oda Xianrong is introduced to Shen Tingbai. Gu Qiqi has a crush on Xie Liangchen. Huang Song is smitten with Xie Xiang.

Its Gu Yanzhen's birthday and he wants to spend it with Xie Liangchen. Its Qu Manting's birthday, too, but she wants to have dinner with Gu Yanzhen.

Mr Oda gives the order to kill Shen Junshan. Oda Xianrong helps find a Japanese surgeon at Xie Liangchen's request. Gu Yanzhen finds Xie Liangchen to say goodbye. Huang Song doesn't know what to do to save his brother.

Even as the Gu family starts to leave, Gu Yanzhen worries about Xie Liangchen. Shen Tingbai visits Qu Manting and finally agrees to cancel their engagement. Qu Manting gets a guest role in a movie and upstages the lead actress.

Gu Yanzhen's antics make life at the academy even harder for Xiang Liangchen. Whispers, nudges and suggestion follow her everywhere. Her identity is exposed in several ways. She is uncertain what to do or how to handle it.

Xie Xiang accompanies Tan Xiaojun on an outing but it turns out to be a private track. Shen Junshan meets Xie Xiang. Li Wenzhong plots to get Xie Liangchen outed. Huang Song won't share his secret. Shen Junshan returns to the academy.

Gu Tanzhen, Xie Liangchen and Zhu Yanlin follow Huang Song. They try to get him out of his contract but end up training him for a life-or-death match. Shen Junshan takes Xie Xiang out on a date.

After a Russian fighter dies, they pursue his opponent. Guo intercedes but the students are taken back to the academy and punished. With pressure on, Director Lu gives them a choice - be expelled or take on a risky task without support.

The team carry out their plan but are in over their heads.

Oda Xianrong appears at the tavern to "meet" Huo Xiaoyu and return her man. Xie Liangchen witnesses the encounter. Qu Manting doesn't give up despite Gu Yanzhen's rejection of all her advances.

Tan Xiaojun tricks Xie Xiang into going to a masked ball with her. She ponders over Shen Junshan's actions and statements and thinks that he might know her secret. Xie Liangchen is ordered to change rooms.

Huo Xiaoyu is preparing for revenge which interrupts Xie Xiang's discussion with Shen Junshan. Li Wenzhong plays tricks on the flower shop girl. Tan Xiaojin is kidnapped by the Japanese.

Gu Yanzhen goes looking for Xie Liangchen feeling guilty that he didn't know she was missing. Shen Junshan accompanies Xie Liangchen to Peking, where her family is, to recover from her injuries. Xie Xiang is kidnapped in Peking.

Gu Yanzhen faints after he sees Xie Xiang. Shen Junshan rushes to Peking when he hears that she is missing. Li Wenzhong spends some time at the flower shop.

The geology survey recovered indicates important mineral deposits. At an auction a surprising bidder participates and forms an interesting business alliance. A former slave returns after an assassination.

Xie Liangchen is surprised at Li Wenzhong's actions and is even friendly towards him because of them. Sniper fire puts a team in danger and Gu Yanzhen takes the blame.

Gu Yanzhen is out for revenge. The royal seal reappears and causes mayhem at the academy.

Xie Xiang has to survive in prison. Li Wenzhong makes a hard decision. Politics makes it difficult for even Xie Xiang's powerful and connected friends to do anything to help her.

Guo Guting and Hua Xiaoyu quietly celebrate their marriage with several unexpected guests. Questions hang in the air. A mission is assigned to the Academy and Gui Guting gets trapped into leading it.

It's a trap. Gu Yanzhen arrives to late to save them but goes back for Ji Jin as the others escape. Xie Xiang takes things into her own hands and makes a threat at the Academy. Xiaoyu gets partial revenge. The future is uncertain.

Oda Xianrong takes Shen Tingbai to the fortified Japanese hospital to try to get him to cooperate. Familiar faces meet with Gu Yanzhen and Xie Xiang and decide to take on the hospital. A little unexpected help arrives.
