Don struggles to get respect from popular advertisers despite the popularity of his show; after her return home to Los Angeles, Simone looks to rekindle her relationship with JT.

Don looks to salvage a performance with the Pointer Sisters despite June flying off the rails after having an altercation with her paramour.

An eclectic Sly and Family Stone bring their pre-show practices to set; Brooks get Don to book Elton on "Soul Train."

Don confronts Flo about moonlight for his competition, while The Godfather of Soul puts Soul Train on pause to reclaim his poached musicians. JT and Simone finally reconnect.

Gerald's reliability is tested after a raid of the casino at the club; Ruby shows she can pull a top act for "Soul Train" when Gerald comes up short, leaving Don with a decision to make.

Don rushes back home to Chicago, after his son, Raymond alerts him to an altercation with the neighbor; Ruby looks to get revenge on Don and Gerald.

As Don battle his raging migraines, he looks to secure a new talk show with the network; after surviving their near death experience, Simone and JT search for their own independence and win over Aiya's foster parents.
