Carmen gets burned at the stake in 1646 Cartagena. The witch travels to the future to save herself and her lover.

Ninibe is confirmed to be missing. Carmen is being investigated by the police. Carmen spies on university student Alicia. Carmen uses her magic to communicate with Ninibe and is shown a tree where dismembered bodies are buried.

Carmen is desperate to communicate with her benefactor Aldemar. Johnny Ki suggests his Ouija board. Carmen accidentally summons the ghost of a university student who has amnesia.

Carmen has befriended Johnny Ki. Johnny Ki, in an effort to protect Carmen from harm, uses a spell from Ninibe's spell book to steal Carmen's shadow. The consequence of a witch losing her shadow is insanity.

Carmen's friends are racing to restore Carmen to her former self. The mention of Carmen's mother: Paula Eguiluz, in a reenactment for the carnival brings Carmen to her senses and she restores her shadow herself.

Carmen is unable to control her powers with a broken heart. Carmen decides to perform a ritual to forget, but Mayte takes advantage of the ritual and it backfires.

In an effort to save her friend Mayte, Carmen invokes her full powers as a witch. In doing so, she discovers the identity of the witch Lucien, who Aldemar had warned her about.

Carmen has completed the mission that Aldemar tasked her with. So she returns to the 17th Century and must reconcile with the 21st Century attitudes she grew accustomed to. And Aldemar has one last job for her.

Carmen has lost her powers and realizes it was Aldemar she should have been wary of. The women of the de Aranoa household suffer. And, in the 21st Century, Carmen's friends try to communicate with her.

Professor Ninibe now knows she is being used. Esteban/Lucien, in an effort to protect Carmen, joins his father Aldemar. Without her powers, Carmen attempts to trap Aldemar to prevent him from his plans to steal powers from other witches.
