Al-Mu'tamid's vizier Ibn Ammar deceives King Alfonso, coercing him not to attack Seville after beating him at a game of chess. King Ibn Dandoun plans to exploit Ibn 'Okasha to ignite seditions in Cordoba in revenge against Al-Mu'tamid.

King Al-Mu'tamid is steadfast on the battlefield despite the withdrawal of the King of Badajoz's army after the Spaniards superiority at the beginning of the battle, the Marabout troops being late to arrive. The Andalusian army and the Marabouts are victorious over the Spanish army in the Battle of Sagrajas.

Alfonso threatens Andalusia with a great army causing King Al-Mu'tamid to leave to the Maghreb to recruit the Marabouts. The Marabouts return to Andalusia and are victorious over Alfonso, showing their intention to remove the Andalusian kings and unite the region.

The Marabouts are able to remove the Andalusian kings and unite the region under their rule to the anger and rage of King Al-Mu'tamid, Yousef bin Tashfin having betrayed him. King Al-Mu'tamid and his wife are exiled to Aghmat after most of his children are killed in Andalusia.
