Niamh Cusack

Niamh Cusack was born on Oct 20, 1959 in Ireland. Niamh Cusack's big-screen debut came with Beryl Markham: A Shadow on the Sun directed by Tony Richardson in 1988. The daughter of actor Cyril Cusack she along with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters were raised in Dalkey, Eire, Her mother died after a long illness when she was 18. She obtained a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where she learnt to play the flute and did so professionally before taking up acting and joining the RSC at 23, She joined the cast of the tv series Heartbeat as Dr Kate Rowan leaving in 1995. She married cellist Roland Saggs and divorced him after 9 years and now lives with actor Barry Lynch and their son Callum
