Jorge Forero

Jorge Forero was born on Jan 28, 1981 in Colombia. Jorge Forero's big-screen debut came with Addictions and Subtractions directed by Víctor Gaviria in 2004.

Jorge Forero is a Colombia filmmaker.He founded in 2010 Burning Blue, a production company with whom he produced "La tierra y la sombra" by César Acevedo (Golden Camera - Cannes 2015), as well as "Siete Cabezas" by Jaime Osorio Márquez (Warsaw 2017). Executive Producer of "Sundowners" by Pavan Moondi and Associate Producer of "Los Hongos" by Oscar Ruiz Navia (Locarno 2014). He has co-produced the feature films "Cómprame un revólver" by Julio Hernández Cordón (Cannes 2018), "Jesús" by Fernando Guzzoni (San Sebastian 2016), "Refugiado" by Diego Lerman (Cannes 2014) and "Climas" from Enrica Pérez (Warsaw 2014).In 2015 he premiered "Violencia" at Berlin Film Festival, his first feature film as a director which participated in multiple festivals around the world. It won the prize of Best feature film at Huelva Film Festival and some other awards. He has directed the short films "Uno de esos días" and "Sometamos o matemos"; as well as the documentary "En el fondo del Pozo".He was head of programming from New Creators, Short films, and PuertoLab- WIP, sections at the FICCI - International Film Festival of Cartagena. Since 2018 he is a programmer for Bogoshorts, Bogota Short Film Festival. Since 2018 he is a professor of the Master in Audiovisual Creation of the Javeriana University and at the Conservatory of Executive Production of the Escuela Nacional de Cine.In 2021, Jorge Forero founded Marginal, a production company created for the elaboration of propositive and risky audiovisual projects that explore the richness of audiovisual language, seeking multidisciplinary participation in collective creative processes.
