When True gets a pair of tickets to the last-minute ball, Ryan and Lulu spend the day trying to persuade her to share the second ticket, although she clearly wants to share it with Jimmy Madigan. Amanda works with an otherwise trustworthy assistant named Laura who quits after an encounter with Ryan, and a young fashion model named Vivian who spends the day teasing her over her condescending attitude towards the ladies in her profession.

Mr. Madigan discovers a new prodigy, but True suspects that he's up to no good.

Upon learning that Max plans to marry at the city zoo, True and Amanda compete to design the bridal gown for Doris. Preparations for the big day are going well until the wedding planner quits and leaves True in charge.
