When successful psychologist Joe O'Loughlin is asked by the police to assist in the investigation of the murder of a young woman, ghosts from his past begin to resurface.

Despite his best efforts, Joe becomes more entangled in the case of the murdered young woman. When Joe's marriage is hit by a bombshell, the line between innocence and guilt seems irretrievably blurred.

Joe embarks on his own investigation, while the police continue theirs. As Joe digs deeper, he unearths details which lead him uncomfortably close to home.

Desperate to uncover the truth, Joe finds himself on the run. In a final attempt to understand that is happening to him, Joe must dig deep into the past, including his own.

Joe has finally uncovered the truth at the heart of recent events, but the threat to those closest to him has never been more real.
