Ranchers are turning up dead in Lost Valley. It turns out that the local banker, a woman, is behind the killings, in order to get the ranchers' land. In the course of his investigation, Roy learns that eight-year-old Jamie Jenkins is next on the banker's list.

Outlaws kidnap a fur trapper trying to get his valuable pelts. Meanwhile, his two children are left, alone and frightened, in a mountain cabin.

Parson Loomis, transporting a payroll from the Mineral City Bank to the Hardrock Mine, is ambushed by a pair of thieves. One of them returns to Mineral City, disguising himself as "Reverend Brown", allegedly a friend of Parson Loomis'. However, Roy and other townspeople begin to suspect that "the reverend" isn't what he seems to be.

The area is plagued by a rash of stagecoach robberies by a gang of outlaws. However, the tables are turned when the outlaws themselves are robbed of their stolen goods by someone who calls himself "The Larrabee Kid".

The Paradise Valley Fur Trappers Association finds itself the victim of a rash of fur hijackings. What they don't know is that the robberies are an inside job.

The Hard Luck Insurance Company claims that it will insure a rancher for the rest of his life for just one payment. Roy suspects the company is a racket, and sets out to investigate.

In honor of Boy's Day, the law-enforcement offices in town are turned over to students for the day, and young Bob Miner is appointed sheriff. His crooked uncle takes advantage of the situation to try to swindle an elderly rancher out of his land.

When homesteader Frank Stewart is found shot, already existing tensions explode and erupt into a feud between ranchers and farmers. Roy has to help settle the dispute and find out who really shot Stewart.

Although Lanny Gaines and his ailing father have lived in Paradise Valley for several months, none of their neighbors has stopped by to introduce themselves. One day a group of surveyors arrives at his ranch and Lanny, overjoyed to finally have some company, takes them in. What he doesn't know is that the men are not surveyors but a gang of outlaws on the run from the law.

A member of the Castle outlaw gang hears Dale say that "the key to the greatest treasure in the world is in that book". He tells the gang, which will stop at nothing to find out what book she's talking about and how to get their hands on it.

Unable to find a job, two young men decide on a life of crime, and their first victims are an elderly couple who has befriended them.

Pat is kidnapped by an outlaw gang, one of whom may be in line for a million-dollar inheritance.

After the Paradise Valley stagecoach is robbed, Roy and Dale notice how nervous the local schoolteacher seems to be. His suspicions aroused, Roy begins an investigation.

A young man, unable to put up with his abusive father anymore, sees a reward poster for Curt Carlson, leader of the Carlson gang, and sets out after the gang. However, he's not after the reward--he wants to join the gang.

Dale takes a little girl named Johnnie under her wing. It turns out that Johnnie's father, an outlaw, has been murdered by his fellow gang members.

Marv Hanley, a feisty, trigger-happy sheep rancher, joins the posse out to catch his brother-in-law Dunc Wright, who has just held up a stagecoach. However, Marv isn't interested in bringing Wright to justice--he's never liked him and is using the posse as an excuse to gun him down.

While visiting nearby Carson County, Roy, Dale and Pat meet Jamie Howard, a little girl whose horse has been stolen. It turns out that the animal was taken by an outlaw who is framing Jamie's father for a robbery.

Ellen Corbin, a waitress at Dale's café, is preparing for her father's release from prison, after which he will come to Mineral City to live with her. Howewver, as soon as he arrives in town, he is paid a visit by his former partner in crime, who has plans of his own.
