The mysterious newcomer Vincent attracts the unwelcome attention of the Kemble Gang, a bunch of notorious brigands who control the locality. Vincent finds himself captured - and staked out to die on the treacherous Gull Beach.

Having escaped from the Kemble Gang's clutches, Honesty makes a desperate bid to save Vincent's life. He must be quick - the tide is entering Gull Beach and Vincent faces a watery death.

When Vincent decides to make a smuggling run to France for brandy and claret, but finds a stowaway on board - who puts both himself and his cargo at risk - the smuggler must make a on-the-spot decision.

Sarah's grandfather, Walter König, is accused of being a French spy. Suspecting that the Kembles are behind the accusations, Sarah begs Vincent to help - but Jack has other things to occupy his mind. Revenue man Marwood is after his blood.

Discovering that the Kembles are in league with a French spy - whose identity is known to him - Vincent set out to prove König's innocence by facing the villains in their own stronghold.

When Honesty Evans is forced into taking a navy commission by a press gang, Vincent has to find a way freeing him - without breaking the law. He does so, by a cleverly executed plan.

Little knowing that revenue officer Taggart has laid a trap for him, Vincent sets out to help an old smuggler, Rummy Culbert, pull off one last result before he retires. Can Vincent out his adversary?

When Honesty takes an interest in Sophia, a spoilt young girl staying with Sarah, it culminates with both himself and Vincent being captured by two of Jack's old enemies seeking revenge.

A barrel of rum is washed ashore from a ship cast up on a reef. Honesty finds it and takes it to Jack. Vincent makes plans to recover the remaining cargo - but other people are interested.

It's a task fraught with danger, Shipwrecked convicts are holding Sarah and her grandfather prisoner - Jack must engineer a plan to rescue then which could cost him his own life in exchange for their freedom.

When two sailors from Vincent's past appears seeking their revenge, Jack finds himself faced with accusations that he alone can prove untrue - but will his friends believe his story?

Vincent rescues revenue officer Arrow from an attack by cut-throats, but a second attempt on Arrow's life proves successful and the man is killed in mysterious circumstances. Jack finds himself accused of murdering the man.

The evidence against Jack is that his knife was found at the scene of Arrow's death, but Vincent denies all knowledge of the crime - not that it matters to the dead man's friends: they have arranged for Jack to be shot while 'attempting to escape'.
