Richie's brother sydney tries to persuade Richie to quit the P.I. business after Richie ends up in jail for the upteenth time. It is Sydney however who promptly gets arrested for embezzlement, and it is up to Richie to clear his brother's name.

Richie Brockelman finally has some P.I. work coming his way when he has to bid on an old '54 Chevy for a client. But after leaving his wallet in the car upon delivering it, he discovers the Chevy wasn't just a restoration object for his client.

Richie's agency unexpectantly gets bought out by a major detective and security organisation, at the same time he is investigating what seems to be a simple infidelity case.

A friend of Richie's who's addicted to gambling gets conned during a poker game for 15.000 dollars.

A speeding car crashes to avoid Brockelman's Mustang.The injured driver tells him to inform his wife, but when he returns to the hospital with her, there is no record of him being there and no-one remembers either Richie or the man.
