Retired homicide detective Chris Anderson and criminal defense attorney Melissa Lewcowicz travel to Slidell, Louisiana. They've been called in by the parents of "Mac" Phipps, a once up and coming rapper, who's been serving time for a murder they insist he did not do. Chris and Melissa reinvestigate the case before letting the family know whether they will get them help or whether Mac is right where he belongs.

A mom is convinced her son, doing hard time for murdering his rival in love, is completely innocent. Chris and Melissa reopen the case and discover a web of betrayal, broken hearts and bloodshed.
